Paul Pogba prepares £50m, set to buy himself out of United contract

- Pogba could finally leave Old Trafford this summer

Paul Pogba is reportedly planning to capitalize on a Fifa ruling which has opened a loophole for him to force a controversial exit at Manchester United, according to SunSport.

The Frenchman is hoping he finally leaves the Old Traffford club after spending three years with the team.

Article 17 in the governing body's rule-book states that players can buy out the remaining years of their contract after three seasons with a club.

Pogba who has been heavily linked with Spanish giants Real Madrid is now hoping to take advantage of the ruling in a bid to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Hearts Defender Andy Webster was the first player to apply the ruling when he cited Article 17 to leave the club for Wigan.

Although there were controversies as the Scottish club sought £5million, a figure which was earlier estimated to be around £250,000 based on the salary expectations left on Webster's contract.

A Fifa resolution verdict named a fee of £625,000 but a Court of Arbitration for Sport clarification reduced it to £150,000.

There were concerns that the precedence will allow players to suddenly invoke the ruling in a big to leave a club.

Pogba desires to leave for Real Madrid and now the 27-year-old is said to have the ruling at his disposal.

Although reports say the Frenchman is not considering that yet, he could eventually invoke it if Manchester United refuse to allow him leave.

With Pogba having one more year left on his contract, United also have an option of extending it for another twelve months, an act which could force the player to go by the way of the Fifa ruling and it will cost him not less than £50million to buy himself out.
