Odion Ighalo’s outstanding performance in the Manchester United jersey has earned him a nomination for the club’s player of the month of March award, Complete Sports reports.

Then former Nigerian international was named alongside Fred, Harry Maguire and Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes for the coveted award.

The winner of the award will be decided by fans of the club in what could be the most impressive month for former Watford striker Ighalo.

The 30-year-old has scored four goals in his first three starts for the Red Devils since joining on transfer deadline day on January 31.

According to his agent, Patrick Bastianelli, the striker 'deserved his prize' of fulfilling his dream to play his boyhood club.

“Odion is reaping what he deserves after many sacrifices, after many years around Europe," Bastianelli told TuttoSport (via Sport Witness ).

"Manchester is a prize for everything he’s shown in recent years."

Rumours of a permanent contract have swirled as his impressive form has taken many by surprise, but not Basitanelli.

“It’s part of his character, of his great seriousness," he added. "He scored many goals. He always has a positive attitude.”

“Odion is a person who always looks ahead, always in a positive way.”

Odion Ighalo scored a breath-taking goal in Man United's 5-0 win over LASK in the Europa League last 16 game, cited on Daily Star.

The strike is a contender for goal of the season and United fans have flooded UEFA's official handle to vote for the Nigerian striker as the Player of the Week.

Ighalo did most of the work in the making of the goal after Bruno Fernandes assisted the 30-year-old who made three touches before finding the roof of the net with his fourth.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Bruno Fernandes has made an instant the impact in Man United squad since his January move from Sporting Lisbon, cited on Daily Star.

The Portuguese midfielder has been a major influence on and off the field and Scottish star Scott McTominay is already benefitting from Fernandes. According to Bleacher Report, the 25-year-old has been giving out advice to McTominay on United's training pitch in Carrington.

It is understood that the £48million signing from Lisbon speaks English very well which has been of good to McTominay. Reports also claim that Fernandes has already made his friendship with compatriot and Wolves midfielder Diogo Jota.
