Victor Osimhen has continued to make the headlines in the French Ligue as Lille fell 2-1 to Marseille in a league match.

The Nigerian international drew a fine save from Steve Mandanda in goal with a brilliant curling effort from outside of the 18-yard area.

It was Loic Remy's turn to test the French goalkeeper as Mandanda made an acrobatic save to keep the score at 0-0.

Six minutes after the interval, Osimhen got his name on the scoresheet with a calm finish after latching on to a through ball to chip the ball beyond the goalkeeper. 1-0 to Lille.

Marseille were awarded a penalty on the hour mark as Valentin Rongier's shot was saved by Mike Maignan.

But the away side finally drew level in the 61st minute as Reinildo Mandava headed the ball into his own net to make it 1-1.

And two minutes later, Lille lost their grip as Marseille took the lead through Dario Benedetto as he make himself available at the right place and at the right time to tap-in Valere Germain cross to make it 2-1.

And that was how it ended as Marseille maintain second spot behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain. Lille remain in fourth position but are a point below the Champions League spot.
