Pep Guardiola contends his rival at Arsenal Mikel Arteta has had a good start at the Gunners since replacing Unai Emery at the helm.

Arteta was appointed Arsenal permanent boss late December, succeeding Emery who was shown the door for poor results.

The Spaniard made a sensational return to north London from Man City where he was Guardiola's assistant.

In seven of the matches he has managed the Emirates outfit, the former midfielder has collected just one win which came against Man Unied, with the other six ending in draws.

The Sunday, February 2, stalemate at Burnley now leaves Arsenal lying 10th on the log with 31 points, and now face the prospect of missing out on a top four finish this season.

Be that as it may, Guardiola still feels Arsenal are doing well in the league under his former assistant.

"I know he’s incredibly happy there," Pep was quoted saying when asked if City are missing Arteta.
"He’s doing a great job. His team when I saw some games are doing really well and I’m so happy for him," he continued.

Meanwhile, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher is tipping Arteta to succeed at Arsenal once the tactician signs new players in the summer.

Earlier, had reported how Mikel Arteta who is Arsenal's new manager stated that he is ready to build his team around German football star Mesut Ozil at the Emirates stadium.

Before Mikel Arteta retired from active football, he played together with Mesut Ozil under Arsene Wenger and they were very close then.

And now that the Spaniard is the boss of Arsenal, he wants the team to play in a certain way to facilitate Ozil’s strengths.
