Liverpool vs Man United: Solskjaer says Bailly, Tim Mensah are fit and available

- Liverpool vs Man United will see the Red Devils seek to delay the Reds' title surge

- The Reds are currently sitting on the summit of league standings with 61 points

- United is the only side the Jurgen Klopp-tutored outfit has dropped points against in the league

Man United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has delivered encouraging news for four first team injured players ahead of his side's Premier League match against Liverpool.

United are scheduled to battle the Reds on Sunday, January 19, at Anfield, in a match both sides will be keen to register good results.

Liverpool, who are currently topping the charts with 61 points are yet to lose a single League match this season.

The only time they dropped points was against the Red Devils, who forced them to a 1-1 draw back in October at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer will be once again looking to frustrate Liverpool albeit away from home with the Norwegian confirming up to four players are close to returning to action.

Speaking ahead of the Sunday clash, the boss was asked on the availability of Eric Bailly, Diogo Dalot, Tim Fosu-Mensah, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Axel Tuanzebe all who have been on the sidelines in recent weeks.

Whereas Tuanzebe and Rojo do not appear close to an immediate comeback, there was more positive news regarding the other four defenders.

“Axel had a setback but he’s working his way towards fitness. Eric and Tim are fit and available," Solskjaer told manutd.com.

“Luke has been ill and he’s had a little issue. Diogo is back and Marcos is still not ready. He had a bad calf injury that took longer than we expected," he added.

Victory for United over Liverpool will see the Manchester club narrow the gap between them and fourth-placed Chelsea to just two points.
