Steven Gerrard: Ex-Liverpool star omits Cristiano Ronaldo from all-time team

- Steven Gerrard believes Cristiano Ronaldo does not deserve a place in his team of the decade

- The former Liverpool star claims the Portuguese star is more of an individual player

- Gerrard also keeps a special place for Ronaldinho, Buffon and Zidane in his exclusive list

Former Liverpool star, Steven Gerrard, has thrown more light into his omission of Juventus ace Cristiano Ronaldo from his all-time team.

The Rangers manager axed the Portuguese out of his all-star five-a-side team team during his episode on a podcast with Jamie Carragher, while including Lionel Messi.

Despite playing against Ronaldo while he was at Manchester United and Real Madrid, Gerrard said his decision to cast-out the Juve ace was informed by his conviction about Ronaldo not being a team player.

"There are certain players who are on a different level to anyone else out there, Messi and Ronaldo," Gerrard said.

"But Ronaldo doesn't get in my team. I am more about what you are going to do for the team. He will win you things but I am more about a team player than an individual player."

The Ranger boss also named legendary goalie Gianluigi Buffon as the greatest goalkeeper he ever played against, while booking special place for Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldinho Gaúcho in his team.

"Buffon, the best goalkeeper I have played against. I would go Maldini, he was a hero of mine," Gerrard said.

"I am going to go attacking with the three best players I have played against. Zidane, the stuff he could do.

"His legs were always in control of the ball. He used to glide. He was just a god. He was a freak for me. Ronaldinho had a two, three year spell when he was on his own.
