- Solskjaer is set to undertake his first summer transfer window after being handed the Man United job
- The Norwegian is expected to bring in new legs to strengthen his squad
- He has however warned current squad members of ruthless transfer decisions that could affect some
Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has hinted at a major squad overhaul at the end of the season.
The Norwegian tactician is set to oversee his first summer transfer window after being named United permanent manager in March.
Despite having a bright start to life at Old Trafford, the club has been in a significant decline after registering a series of poor results in recent weeks.
As such, Solskjaer is expected to offload star players to create room for new signings that can help him compete for titles next season.
"It's going to be survival of the fittest or survival of the best. That's how ruthless we have to be," Solskjaer told ESPN in a news conference.
"We need players here who are going to be able to take us forward. That means culture in the dressing room, what we do every single day here to make us challenge again," he added.

Some of the players expected to face the exit doors in the summer include Alexis Sanchez, Eric Bailly, Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opened up on the conversation he had with Lionel Messi after his side's defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League.
Messi was not in perfect shape during the Wednesday night, April 10, clash as he was unable to keep up with United's intensity and physicality.
Chris Smalling's nasty challenge on the Argentine midway through the first half of the match left the star forward with a bloodied nose.
