Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino began his first campaign at Spurs' new stadium with a 2-0 victory against Crystal Palace on Wednesday, April 3.

The north London manager hailed Spurs' stadium as the best in the world following the stunning opening ceremony and win, that was topped with beautiful fireworks display.

"It's a special moment, a special night. I feel and believe it is the best stadium in the world," Pochettino said, according to Skysports (UK).

The eager fans could not have asked for a better return to North London two years after leaving White Hart Lane.

"The emotion was amazing from the beginning. To win was so important to us. Today we touched the glory.

"Now we need to touch the glory of lifting the trophies. Now is the start of a chapter. We close one chapter and open another chapter and bring trophies to our fans," he said.

The victory saw Spurs move back above Arsenal on the log in third place with six games remaining in the season.

"I'm pleased for chairman Daniel Levy because of this fantastic project and I dedicate that victory to him," the Spurs boss added.

The new stadium has a capacity of 62, 062, a considerable increase from White Hart lane's 36, 284 making it the biggest stadium in London and second in the Premier League behind Old Trafford. earlier reported that two second half goals from Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen were all Tottenham needed to beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at their newly rehabilitated stadium.

Son opened scoring for the hosts in the 55th minute, while Eriksen's goal came in the 80th minute as Spurs bounce back to winning ways after Liverpool's defeat.
