It took Nigeria's goalkeeper Francis Uzoho just 23 minutes to bag his first career red card while in action for Anorthosis Famagusta on Monday night.

The 20-year-old Super Eagles star was handed a marching order by referee Giorgos Nicolaou for unsportsmanlike conduct shortly after his side's second goal of the match.

Coach Jurgen Streppel's men emerged victorious at the end of the fixture with three superb goals to his side's credit.

The hosts defeated Alki Oroklini 3-0 at the end of normal regulation time but played most part of the game with ten men.

Uzoho joined Anorthosis this year but his arrival was rocked with health certificate scandal, and he went ahead to miss six successive games in the Cypriot First Division.

He was not sent parking from the match for an on-the-field tackle, but for the gesture he made towards the Alki Oroklini supporters.

According to Vanguard, Uzoho has been cautioned (received yellow cards) 37 times prior to this game at Stadio Antonis Papadopoulos in all competitions.

The 20-year-old, meanwhile, he has been booked once so far in his Super Eagles journey - the card he got in the 47th minute in an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya last October.

Earlier, reported that Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has been handed a one match suspension by the Cyprus Football Association after being fielded ineligibly in a game.

The 20-year-old featured for his present side Anorthosis Famagusta in their 1-0 win over Apollon Limassol earlier this month.

However, the country's FA have found the Nigeria international and his club guilty, and both have been sanctioned by the club. ( -> We have updated to serve you better.
