- This is his first training session with the squad since the Club World Cup
Cristiano Ronaldo has finally returned to first team training with the rest of the Real Madrid squad.
The Portuguese trained for the first time on Friday, December 22, since Madrid's return from Abu Dhabi after the Club World Cup.
The 32-year-old picked up a knock in the Club World Cup final win over Gremio last Saturday, December 16.

The European champions have been monitoring Ronaldo's recovery and the player has seen his workload carefully managed throughout the week as he looks to build us match fitness.


After a light routine alone on Wednesday, he stepped things up slightly on Thursday, still alone but working both with and without the ball.

On Friday, he returned to full time training with the squad ahead of their meeting with their most bitter rivals, Barcelona.

Zidane’s side who are in fourth place at present are 11 points behind Barcelona who top the La Liga standings.
