  • Antonio Rudiger is staring at an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge ahead of the expiry of his current contract
  • Rudiger's deal with Chelsea is set to expire at the end of the ongoing season and he is yet to agree a new one
  • His contract situation has sparked speculation he could depart the Blues for nothing at the end of this term
  • Manchester United are the leading contenders for his services, with Bayern Munich and PSG also interested

Manchester United have reportedly entered the race to sign Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, Metro reports.

Rudiger has become the subject of transfer speculation, with the German yet to renew his contract at Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old has formed an important part of Thomas Tuchel since his arrival at Chelsea in January and was influential during the Blues' Champions League triumph last season.

However, with the centre-back's deal set to expire at the end of the season, the west Londoners are in danger of losing him for nothing if he fails to agree a new one.

Tuchel is understood to be keen for Rudiger to extend his stay with Chelsea but the defender remains non-committal.

Rudiger's contract situation has seen him court interest from several European clubs, with Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich among those he has been linked with.

The Independent now reports rivals Man United have also registered interest in the services of the Germany international.

However, the publication added Rudiger would prefer to leave the Premier League altogether should he decide to dump the Blues.

As things stand, Real Madrid are believed to be leading to race to sign Rudiger, with reports suggesting brother and agent brother Sahr Senesie has already held talks with the Spanish club.

An ‘informal agreement’ is said to have been reached between Real and Rudiger’s representative after successful talks in November.

Meanwhile, Tuchel has not hidden his desire to keep his countryman at Stamford Bridge, describing his performance in recent months as "outstanding."

Rangnick wants John McGinn in Paul Pogba's position

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick looks prepared to bolster his squad in January and has identified Aston Villa’s John McGinn as a target.

Daily Star are repotting that the United interim manager is prepared to splash £50million on the Scot to reinvigorate his midfield.

It was gathered that the Old Trafford club will do business as soon as the transfer window opens next month as Rangnick is desperate in reshaping his squad.
