Napoli who are Italian Serie A giants have confirmed that they are optimistic about the possibility of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen returning to training from next week.

The Super Eagles front-man underwent a cheekbone and eye socket operation on November 23 and there have been reports that Victor Osimhen might not play in 2022 AFCON.

According to the latest development on Sun, Victor Osimhen could return to action earlier than expected as Napoli medical department are trying their best in fast recuperation.

The report added that Victor Osimhen has already removed the stitches and has started working with treadmills and exercise bikes.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Taiwo Awoniyi on Friday night, December 3, continued his impressive performances this season in the German Bundesliga by netting 9th goal of the term.

The Super Eagles star scored in the 6th minute as his club Union Berlin defeated visiting RB Leipzig 2-1 in what was a tough German Bundesliga encounter.

Taiwo Awoniyi has now scored 12 goals so far this season for Union Berlin in all competitions and the Nigerian is still agile to continue netting.

With their win over RB Leipzig, Taiwo Awoniyi and his teammates are now occupying fourth position on the German Bundesliga table after 14 games played so far.

Ighalo discloses 1 big thing he was offered to take from Osimhen when he returned to Super Eagles

Legit.ng also reported how Odion Ighalo disclosed that a top member of the Nigerian Football Federation offered him the chance to take back the jersey number 9 from Victor Osimhen when he returned to the Super Eagles.

But the former Manchester United striker claimed that he rejected the offer and asked to be given any available shirt number to wear on his return to the Nigerian squad.

Ighalo decided to step aside from the Super Eagles after the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt where he finished as the highest goalscorer in the tournament.

The former Watford striker did not give the main reason for his decision as he claimed it was personal and then decided to focus on his club career.
