The 29-year old has not played professionally since suffering cardiac arrest while playing for his national team in the Euros in June.

BBC reports that Eriksen has started some light sessions with Odense Boldklub, a club that he represented in his teens.

"Eriksen reached out to us, and he is now training by himself," an OB spokesperson told Reuters.
"It's natural for him since he played here in his youth and lives around the corner. We are very happy to be able to provide training facilities for him,"

Eriksen played for OB before eventually moving to Ajax in 2008. His biggest career upgrade was when he joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.

After seven years with Tottenham and having played in the Champions League final in 2019, Eriksen would move to Inter Milan in 2020 under Antonio Conte.

Following the incident in June, the Serie A barred Eriksen from playing in the league after he had an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) installed to monitor his heart.

Eriksen can only be allowed to play in the league if he has the device removed and has a clean bill of health.

Inter Milan has also in the recent past expressed willingness to allow the Danish midfielder to leave the club.

There is no indication when Eriksen started training with OB, and how long he will be there.

The worrying trend of players collapsing

Incidents of players collapsing during matches are becoming all too common, even in top-flight football.

In September, West Bridgford Colts confirmed the tragic death of Dylan Rich who passed away days after collapsing on the pitch.

The youngster reportedly suffered cardiac arrest during their FA Youth Cup match against Boston United at Regatta Way Stadium on Thursday, September 2.

Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is also on the verge of calling it quits at the tender age of 33 due to heart problems.

Aguero, now at Barcelona, recently had to be taken off a La Liga match after complaining of shortness of breath.
