Mohamed Salah has refused to comment on him finishing as seventh-best in the 2021 Ballon d'Or which was won by Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi.

Football fraternities around the world are still expressing their reactions to Lionel Messi beating Robert Lewandowski to win the 2021 Ballon d'Or with many saying the Bayern Munich star deserved it.

Lionel Messi in the year 2021 helped Argentina to win the Copa America thereby lifting his first-ever international title with the national team.

Organizers of the Ballon d'Or explained clearly that the Argentina international had the highest number of votes and was announced the winner.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Mohamed Salah explained the rationale behind his departure at Premier League giants Chelsea in 2016 claiming that Jose Mourinho's interference forced him to walk away.

The Egypt international moved to Stamford Bridge from Basel in 2014 and there were high expectations from him by fans to shine in the Premier League.

However, Mohamed Salah failed to find his rhythm at Chelsea and was only to play 19 games for the Blues in all competitions before being loaned out to Fiorentina.

At Italian side Fiorentina, Mohamed Salah only played 16 games netting six goals before being sold by Chelsea to Roma.
