Rangnick is set to succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on an interim basis until the end of the season following the sacking of the Norwegian.

According to The Sun, Rangnick's move to United will see his wages more than doubled after agreeing to quit Lokomotiv Moscow.

The publication claims the German penned a three-year deal with the Russian club in July worth £3.8million-a-year.

Daily Star reports the 63-year-old has now upgraded his paycheck to £8m-a-year with the Red Devils.

Wages now have him earning higher than what Solskjaer used to pocket, with the sacked tactician believed to have been on a £7.5m-a-year contract.

Meanwhile, Rangnick's wages do not have him anywhere what Pep Guardiola is earning at Man City.

Pep, who is believed to be the best-paid manager in the Premier League is reportedly on a £20m-a-year deal.

New Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte and Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp are some of the other top-earning managers in the division alongside Leeds United's Marcelo Bielsa.
