Arsenal star Gabriel Magalhaes was involved in a scary moment after masked thugs attempted to rob after a night out with a friend.

The thugs are said to have followed Magalhaes home, with one of them who wielded a baseball bat attempting to steal the defenders £45,000 Mercedes.

According to Daily Mail, the two aggressors demanded the Brazilian's car keys, mobile phone, and watch.

The publication further revealed one of the attackers who was identified as Abderaham Muse lunged at the defender with the bat, but Gabriel managed to wrestle with him before the robber wriggled free and took off.

The incident is understood to have taken place in August, with Muse being handed a five-year jail term after police linked him with the robbery via DNA from a hat that fell off during the scuffle with Gabriel.

It was later established that Muse, who is originally from Tottenham has a string of convictions, with some dating back to 2009.

This was not the first time an Arsenal player was getting involved in a scuffle with a thug.

Back in July 2019, Sead Kolasinac fought off two armed men who attempted to rob him and then-teammate Mesut Ozil.

The incident happened outside their home in Hampstead, with those involved being jailed later that year.

Meanwhile, Gabriel, who has been in good shape since joining the Gunners from Lille will be hoping to form the starting XI when his side takes on rivals Man United on Thursday, December 2.

Arsenal and Liverpool legend dies

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Liverpool have been plunged into mourning following the tragic death of legendary midfielder Ray Kennedy.

Kennedy is said to have passed on after a battle with Parkinson's, an ailment he was diagnosed with in 1986.

The 70-year-old formed a major part of Liverpool's success in the 70s and 80s, winning three European Cups in four years.

How EPL table looks like

Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea remain top of the Premier League standings after match week 13 despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Man United at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were unable to take advantage of United's poor run of form in the EPL to regain their four-point lead on the summit of the log.

The west Londoners had to rely on Jorginho to rescue a crucial point against the Red Devils, with the Italian converting from the spot to cancel out Jadon Sancho's 50th-minute opener.
