The Liverpool star has been in perfect shape since the start of the season and currently boasts of the highest number of shots (37) registered in the division.

This goes to prove Salah's appetite for the back of the net and incisiveness in front of goal.

But having failed to score in his side's 4-0 win over Southampton in match week 13, the Egyptian will be wary of Jamie Vardy in the race to win the Golden Boot, with the Leicester City marksman equally enjoying a fine run of form.

Despite the Foxes appearing to struggle in the league, Vardy has managed to be the side's standout player, scoring an impressive nine goals in 13 matches.

The Englishman moved closer to Salah at the weekend after scoring a brace against Watford.

Liverpool pair Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota both sit third on the charts with seven goals, with West Ham's Antonio Conte completing the top five podium.

Interestingly, Harry Kane, who won the prestigious award last term is nowhere close to defending it as he is currently struggling for form.

Salah, meanwhile, who also boasts of the highest number of assists thus far (8) will be desperate to find his scoring boots when Liverpool take on Everton in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Here are the top 10 leading goalscorers after match week 13:

1. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) 11 goals

2. Jamie Vardy Leicester 9 goals

=3 Sadio Mane Liverpool 7 goals

=3 Diogo Jota Liverpool 7 goals

5. Michail Antonio West Ham 6 goals

=6 Emmanuel Dennis (Watford) 5 goals

=6 Joshua King (Watford) - 5 goals

=6 Maxwel Cornet (Burnley) - 5 goals

=6 Raphinha (Leeds United) - 5 goals
