  • Michael Carrick seems not impressed with referee Anthony Taylor following the penalty awarded to Chelsea in their 1-1 draw
  • Aaron Wan-Bissaka was penalised for kicking Thiago Silva while trying to clear the ball and replays show the official made the right decision
  • Carrick fumed over the decision saying he does not think the referee made the right judgment about the situation

Manchester United boss Michael Carrick was not impressed over the referee’s decision to award Chelsea a penalty in their 1-1 draw with the Blues at the Stamford Bridge, Sky Sports reports.

With Chelsea missing a handful of chances in the first half, the second half was more of an open contest as the Red Devils got their noses in front following a huge error from Jorginho.

The Italian midfielder who was the last man in defence controlled the ball into Jadon Sancho's path as the Englishman had to run 30-yards before applying the finish to make it 1-0.

Jorginho made amends for his error as he converted his spot-kick in the 69th minute to make it 1-1 after referee signaled a penalty in a controversial manner.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka was penalised for kicking Thiago Silva while trying to clear the ball, but replays show referee Anthony Taylor made the right decision which infuriated Carrick.

The United boss said via Mirror:

"Disappointed actually. When you are in front in a game like this to have it taken away is disappointing.
"I'm proud of the players and the group all week. In a difficult situation we tried to make the best of it. But there is that little bitter feeling.
"We came to win the game. A little disappointed, I can't lie. I don't think it was a penalty at all.
"They have had a lot of shots. David had two saves, we knew before the game he would have to make one or two. Other than that I have felt quite comfortable in the game.
"Of course we want to be better. I am not getting carried away but I thought we defended well. I cannot fault the boys one bit.
"To come away disappointed and to feel like you have left something out there is a positive."
