United will be travelling to Stamford Bridge off a radical change at the club following the recent sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer was shown the door last Sunday just hours after leading the Red Devils to a 4-1 humiliating loss against Watford.

Michael Carrick, who was named the caretaker boss went on to lead his charges to a 2-0 morale-boosting win over Villarreal in the Champions League and will be keen to help the side to bounce back in the Premier League.

However, Owen believes United's trip to Stamford Bridge will not be a walk in the park as he expects Chelsea to emerge victors.

The ex-Liverpool star cited the Blues' solid defence as one of the key aspects that could see them trounce their visitors.

Michael Owen's prediction

"Michael Carrick got the desired reaction from his players midweek, although this is a bigger test," Owen said as quoted by Mirror UK.
"Chelsea were awesome against Juventus. They’re defensively rock solid, something that you must be if you have aspirations of winning the title."
"I’m siding with the Blues to take all three points," he added.

Chelsea, meanwhile, will be heading into the clash off their 4-0 comfortable win over Juventus in the Champions League.

The European champions will be looking to earn maximum points over United to cement their lead on top of the standings.

The west Londoners are currently placed first on the log with 29 points one ahead of Liverpool who thrashed Southampton 4-0 in their own fixture.

Carrick to miss key players

Earlier, it was reported Michael Carrick is likely to miss the services of up to seven players when Man United travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in the Premier League.

Paul Pogba and Raphael Varane headline a long list of Man United players who will not play against Chelsea.

Harry Maguire will also play no role in the clash, with the United skipper currently suspended.
