Reports from the Old Trafford have it that Manchester United hierarchy is considering hiring club legends Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher as interim managers, Sport Skeeda reports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to be booted out of his position as manager of the club and the Red Devils will now take time to search for another long-term manager.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that United are preparing to allow Carrick and Fletcher take on their next game, SunSport reports.

It was gathered that Zinedine Zidane of Real Madrid and Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers have been considered to take up the plum job at Old Trafford.

Manchester United were embarrassed 4-1 at the Vicarage Road by impressive Watford who dominated the game from start to finish.

A United youth product Joshua King opened the scoring in the 28th minute before Ismaila Sarr made it 2-0 just a minute before half time.

Donny Van De Beek pulled one back for the visitors in the 50th minute, but Watford scored two late goals courtesy Joao Pedro and Emmanuel Dennis to seal a 4-1 win for the Hornets

Ranieri tells United to give Solskjaer more time

Meanwhile, Watford manager Claudio Ranieri has suggested Man United should not sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite the Red Devils enduring a disappointing run of results in recent weeks.

United were unable to put their poor form behind them when they travelled to Vicarage Road as they picked their fifth loss in seven Premier League outings.

A crisis meeting was held shortly after the Watford defeat and a decision made to get rid of the former Molde boss.

The Watford manager said:

"I think he must be calm and also the chairman must be calm because football is up and down.
"I understand that United can’t do up and down, but he must have the time to build his action and build his team."

Salah to donate shirt worn against Man Utd to animal charity

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Liverpool superstar Mohammed Salah has announced on on social media that he is willing to donate the shirt he wore in his side’s 5-0 demolition of Manchester United to an animal charity for auction.

Salah was the star of the show in that derby as he bagged a hat trick that saw Liverpool completely outclassing their opponents at Old Trafford.

Prior to his goals, Liverpool was well on course for victory courtesy of goals from Naby Keita and Diogo Jota.
