Spanish club Barcelona are reportedly interested in getting the services of Chelsea forward Timo Werner as soon as the January transfer window opens, ASBTF reports.

The 25-year-old German has struggled to adapt to English football since his staggering €50million move to the Stamford Bridge club from RB Leipzig last summer.

It was gathered that Catalan giants Barcelona were interested in signing the striker even before he moved to the Premier League.

Werner is currently sidelined following injury and he has struggled to make matchday squads under Thomas Tuchel, which has attracted Barcelona.

The La Liga outfit are considering a move for the player on loan in January.

Although before his recent injury, Werner had started to become more involved in the matches and fans were enjoying his partnership along with Romelu Lukaku.

But somehow, he failed to make a statement, but struggling Barcelona could become his new team following the appointment of Xavi.

Spanish outlet Marca are reporting via SunSport that Xavi is in the market for a centre-forward as the Catalan giants are currently aware that their economic situation will not permit the signing of an elite-level striker.

Fabregas expresses concern over Timo Werner at Chelsea

Meanwhile, Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas who spent five seasons with the Premier League outfit claims Werner is 'frustrated' by his teammates.

The German forward gave the Blues fans so much hope owing to his impressive performances for his immediate former club.

His misfiring has now become a source of worry not just to the fans, but also to a few players who have represented the club in the past - one of which is Cesc Fabregas.

The former Leipzig man scored his first Premier League goal in eight months during his side's 3-1 triumph over Southampton and after the game, he told the club media that he was super excited.

Thomas Tuchel named Premier League Manager of the Month for October

Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel earns October award after guiding league leaders to four straight wins beating Jurgen Klopp, David Moyes and Patrick Vieira, Premier League reports.

This is the second time the German tactician will scoop the award having won it for the first time back in March 2021 when he led the Blues to victory in all four of their matches in the month.

Tuchel started October with a 3-1 victory at home to Southampton, followed by a hard-fought 1-0 success at Brentford.
