Spanish club Barcelona managed a 1-0 win over Dynamo Kiev in a Champions League fixture on Wednesday night, October 20, Marca reports.
The lone goal of the game came in the 36th minute when Barcelona's corner from the Dest shot was recycled, with Jordi Alba sending in a cross that was volleyed home by Gerard Pique. Barcelona 1-0 Dynamo Kyiv.
In fact, the Catalan giants started the game with all intent and came close as early as the 2nd minute when Jordi Alba’s cross from the left was met by Sergino Dest at the back post, but his header flew over the bar, according to ESPN.
Dynamo Kiev were promising in the 12th minute but they were unable to capitalise from an overload in numbers as the ball was laid back to Tsygankov; his shot was blocked by Pique and then headed back to Ter Stegen by Lenglet.
In the 53rd minute, Ansu Fati closed down Bushchan and Memphis was able to keep it in play, which led to Ansu trying to be the hero by using some skill to try and send the ball goalwards with a shot over his shoulder.
Barcelona pressed for a second goal as Koeman was keen for his side to put the game to bed, so he had brought on Sergio Aguero in place of Memphis Depay, but there were no further goals.
Gerard Pique's 36th-minute goal was enough for Barcelona to grab all three points - their first points this season in the Champions League - but it was by no means a vintage performance.
