Confusion As FIFA, CAF Clash Over Ahmed Musa’s Caps for Super Eagles

Ahmed Musa became Nigeria's most capped player after featuring in the Super Eagles' 2-0 FIFA World Cup qualifier win over Central African Republic last week.

The 29-year-old has now taken over from pacesetters Vincent Enyeama and Joseph Yobo who were the first to achieve the 100th cap feat.

Though, the world football governing body already admitted that the Nigerian captain has made 101 appearances for his national team, CAF, the African football body claims he has 102 caps to his name.

What CAF wrote as regards Musa's feat

The continental football organisation accompanied the winger's picture with praises on their Instagram platform, hailing him for his achievement saying:

“Ahmed Musa writing history with Super Eagles. 102, Nigeria’s all-time most apps (appearances) Super Musa."

Musa was gifted a whooping N10 million by the Nigeria Football Federation president after surpassing both Yobo and Enyeama's records.

The former Premier League attacker made his debut for the country's senior national team in 2010 - scoring 15 goals in the process.

He is also the Nigeria with the most FIFA World Cup goals having scored four at two different finals - in Russia (2018) and Brazil in 2014.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Yann Karamoh's lone strike was all Fatih Karagumruk needed to outshine Altay in their Turkish Super Lig encounter on Sunday, October 17.

The victory propelled them to fourth position on the table after claiming their fifth victory of the season after nine rounds of games.

After the game, it was celebration galore in the dressing room as Ahmed Musa's teammate Tunay Torun showed his dance moves while popular Nigerian song, Love Nwantiti, was playing underneath.
