Former Chelsea star Pedro Rodriguez has blamed Jose Mourinho for his exit from AS Roma during the summer transfer window.

The 34-year-old Spanish winger is now on the books of fellow Italian League side Lazio after joining them for free until the summer of 2023.

Pedro who reunited with former Blues handler Maurizio Sarri at his new club disclosed that he was frozen out of the Giallorossi squad in the summer by Mourinho and the rest of his coaching staff as reported by SunSport.

What Pedro said about Mourinho

"It was very complicated in Roma, they left me out of the team and none of the coaches spoke to me, I didn't know anything about this matter.

"When I spoke with Maurizio Sarri I realised that Lazio was a great opportunity. It is true that no player has left Roma for Lazio in a long time, but I am very happy here.
"Roma is in the past, I don't want to talk about that anymore, my goal now is to help Lazio and my teammates."

The former Barcelona star joined Roma from Chelsea spending five seasons at Stamford Bridge in 2020 - winning one Premier League, FA Cup, and Europa League title.

He also recorded a total of 43 goals and 28 assists in 206 appearances across all competitions at for the reigning Champions League winners.
