The publication added that the goalkeeper only signed the deal after his return from this summer's Copa America championship having been on the negotiating table for some time.

Jurgen Klopp had no choice but to keep the experienced shot-stopper who is among his important players as they get ready for the new Premier League season starting next weekend.

With Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho already committed their futures to the club, Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane could soon follow according to the Mirror.

Liverpool will kick-off the 2021-22 campaign with a trip to Norwich City on Saturday, August 14.

When did Fabinho sign a new deal?

Legit.ng earlier reported that Liverpool have announced that Fabinho has signed a new five-year deal at Anfield thereby ending any speculation of him leaving.

There have been reports of Fabinho wanting to leave Liverpool this summer with the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain said to be interested in his signature.
