Striker Paul Onuachu is expected to lead Super Eagles onslaught against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon when the two teams meet in Austria on Friday night, June 4, Complete Sports reports.

The Nigerian team will play without striker Victor Osimhen who opted out of the friendly due to injury which automatically allows Onuachu to top-strike.

The 27-year-old Genk forward had a sensational season scoring 33 goals in 38 appearances for his Belgium outfit.

Onuachu has found the back of the net in Nigeria’s last game against the Crocodiles of Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

It is expected that Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho will support Onuachu upfront as the game is billed for the Stadion Weiner Neustadt, Vienna.

The two teams will clash in a second friendly at the same venue next week Tuesday.

The west African neighbours are both through to the AFCON 2022 tournament scheduled for next year as they look to develop their respective squad ahead of the soccer fiesta in Africa.

The last time both teams met was at the quarter-final stages of the AFCON 2019 and it was the Super Eagles that won the game by 2-1.

On the other hand, the Indomitable Lions also have a not-too impressive record with a win, three draws and one defeat.

The 26-year-old Super Eagles striker recorded 37 goals in all appearances in the period under review and he is rivaled by Zambia's Patson Daka with the same number of goals.
