Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo and France legend Mitchel Platini are the all-time scorers of the European championships with 9 goals each.

While Ronaldo reached the landmark after 21 games, Platini scored the number of goals in just five matches at only one tournament.

However, while the Frenchman retired from football long ago, Ronaldo who captains Portugal to the forthcoming Euro 2020 now has a chance to become the outright all-time scorer at the competition if he gets a goal.

In third position is former England striker Alan Shearer who has 7 goals to his credit in the tournament.

Other stars that make up the top ten have 6 goals each to their credit including Antoine Griezmann, Thierry Henry, Nuno Gomes, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney and Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

Last year, Euro 2020 was postponed until 2021 amid the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus as Europe's football governing body UEFA held a crisis meeting and the decision was taken to move the tournament to the summer of 2021.

The prestigious tournament will now hold between June 11, to July 11, 2021 and is scheduled to hold in 12 different cities across the continent to mark the competition's 60th anniversary.

And ahead of the competition, Cristiano Ronaldo took out time to drive around Lisbon town in his £2.15 million worth Bugatti Chiron.

The 36-year-old is back in his home country as preparations for the Euro 2020 championship this summer hit top gear.

In a way to relieve some of the stress his body may have accrued since the national team camp was opened, the Juventus winger stepped out for fresh air with his sports car.

Images of the five-time Champions League winner entering into the silver-and-black hypercar before zooming off have now surfaced online.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported via SPORTbible that Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero left tongues wagging when he gifted a kit man his newly acquired Range Rover Evoque on his last day with the Premier League club.

The Argentine who departed the club after 10 years gave away his brand new ride to the amazement and delight of the stadium worker.

Before he left, the striker handed brand new Tag Heuer and Hublot wristwatches to about 60 backroom staff before he raffled off his car.
