William Gallas has backed Chelsea to win the Premier League title next season, but only if Thomas Tuchel signs a world-class striker.

The Blues sealed a top-four finish during the just concluded season, but have been tipped as clear favourites to challenge for the domestic crown next season following an impressive run of form under Tuchel.

The German tactician took over as manager at Stamford Bridge at the end of January, at a time when Chelsea were just ninth.

However, he managed to lead the west London side back to the top four, while leading them to Champions League glory and reaching the FA Cup final.

Gallas now contends Chelsea are primed to bid for the Premier League next term if the club lands a top-class forward this summer.

"Chelsea have the best chance of winning the Premier League next season because of how they played in the Champions League, every team will be afraid," Metro UK quoted the former footballer saying.

"If Chelsea buy a world-class striker, they will win it. From those three, Chelsea have the best chance," he added.

Tuchel is understood to have prioritised the signing of a proven goalscorer to rival Timo Werner and Kai Havertz upfront.

Borussia Dortmund hotshot Erling Haaland, Tottenham ace Harry Kane, and Inter Milan hitman Romelu Lukaku have all been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Chelsea have reportedly identified up to 10 star players to be offloaded as Thomas Tuchel prepares for a summer shakeup.
