Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has been tipped to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Premier League side Everton following the return of the Italian to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

After the end of the 2020/21 League season in Europe, Frenchman Zinedine Zidane decided to leave his position as gaffer at Real Madrid for the second time in his career.

And Los Blancos chiefs wasted no time in appointing a replacement for the World Cup winner as Ancelotti made return to the Santiago Bernabeu.

According to the report on Gimesport, Everton chiefs have included Steven Gerrard on the list of the managers they are looking for ahead of the coming Premier League season.

However, the report added that Everton eggheads have not made any contact with Steven Gerrard or any other coaching candidate.

Steven Gerrard recently recorded his name in the history books at Rangers after helping the club to win the Scottish Premiership title.

Rafa Benitez who coached Steven Gerrard at Liverpool is another candidate being tipped to get the job at Everton this summer.

The Spanish coach is currently out of job after leaving Chinese Super League side Dalian Professional.

Meanwhile, Everton finished the recently concluded Premier League season on 10th position despite starting the term well under Ancelotti.

The Gunners academy graduate joined Everton for £30million under the tutelage of former Toffees manager Marco Silva in 2019.

The 25-year-old made his way from the club's academy into the first team under legendary boss Arsene Wenger but struggled to play regularly under the Spanish manager.

Iwobi became an important member of the Nigerian national team when he was at Arsenal and scored the goal that qualified Nigeria to the 2018 World Cup against Zambia in Uyo.

Before Iwobi's departure to Goodison Park, he scored 15 goals in 149 appearances including a goal in the 2019 Europa League final in Arsenal's 4-1 loss to Chelsea.
