Kano Pillars Remain Unbeaten Since Arrival of Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa in the NPFL

Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) club, Kano Pillars have now gone nine games unbeaten which is a huge feat in the topflight.

He was in Plateau United's dressing room to applaud the opponents after a game.

Since the arrival of Super Eagles captain at the club, the Sai Masu Gida have been the most promising side and they are now joint top on the NPFL standings alongside Akwa United with 45 points from 24 matches.

A couple of months back, Pillars announced the signing of the national team captain until the end of the 2020/21 season.

The former CSKA Moscow star returned to the club where he made his name years back before moving to Europe where he excelled as a footballer.

Ahmed Musa decided to rejoin Pillars following his inability to get a club in Europe during the January transfer window.

The former Leicester City of England forward has now featured in four matches upon return to the Nigerian league and has registered an assist.

They are yet to lose a game since his arrival and in the four games he played, Pillars had two home wins and two away draws.

Meanwhile, Nigeria's technical adviser Gernot Rohr has released a strong squad for his side's international friendly game billed for next month.

Ahmed Musa as well as other usual suspects made the list including Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon, Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Iheanacho.

CD Feirense midfielder Abraham Marcus received his maiden call up by the German-born tactician for the friendly encounter.

Enyimba's John Noble made the final cut ahead of Ikechukwu Ezenwa alongside the duo of Francis Uzoho and Maduka Okoye.

The match is expected to help the three-time African champions shape up for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers coming up in September.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Enyimba have placed a staggering €1million (about N550million) asking price on their forward Anayo Iwuala, Complete Sports reports.

Iwuala who has been impressive in the NPFL this season for the Peoples’ Elephants earned a call up into the national team for the just concluded AFCON qualifiers.

The 22-year-old impressed on his national team debut against the Squirrels of Benin in Porto Novo on March 27 where Nigeria grabbed a late goal through Paul Onuachu to claim all three points.
