After helping the Blues to win the Champions League beating Manchester City in the final, Chelsea chiefs are reportedly ready to reward Brazilian defender Thiago Silva with a new one-year deal.

This latest development will come as a cheering news for many Chelsea fans who have been clamoring for Thiago Silva to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Silva left Paris Saint-Germain last summer after spending almost nine years winning the French League title seven times and got to the final of the Champions League.

He was among the Paris Saint-Germain stars who lost the Champions League final against Bayern Munich and that was his last game for the club.

Upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge, Frank Lampard was the gaffer of the Blues, and despite being written off as an old player, Thiago Silva proved himself with great performances.

Apart from Chelsea winning the Champions League at the just concluded season in Europe, the Blues also finished among the top four and reached the final of the FA Cup.

However, they got a disappointing result in the final of the FA Cup losing the encounter against Leicester City.

According to the report on Daily Mail who are citing the Sun, Chelsea handler Thomas Tuchel is satisfied with Thiago Silva remaining in his squad and has told the Blues' chiefs to offer him one more year deal.
