John Fashanu who is a former England international has explained clearly that the duo of Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori would have made the Super Eagles team if they had chosen Nigeria.

This is coming days after the two Chelsea stars were dropped from the England squad for the coming EURO 2020 Championship.

At the just-concluded League season in Italy, Fikayo Tomori who played on loan at AC Milan was impressive helping the club to finish as second-best on the final table.

Tammy Abraham on the other hand was also in brilliant form for Chelsea at the outgone season where the Blues finished among the top four and will also face Manchester City in the Champions League final.

However, England coach Gareth Southgate did not consider these two players for his squad for the coming championship which will take place in Italy.

According to the report on Complete Sports and Punch, John Fashanu stated clearly that he is not happy with the fact that Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham made the same mistake he did years back.

“I am saying this to all footballers who are waiting to play for England or Nigeria, don’t make the same mistake twice.
“If you want to play and have longevity, choose Nigeria because it is so sure that they will never get a consistent run of matches playing for England; that is not possible. But many players of Nigerian descent are not aware of this.''

Tammy Abraham has played six games for England, while Fikayo Tomori has only played one game for the Three Lions.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Thomas Tuchel named his 25-man squad for Chelsea's Champions League final against Man City on Saturday, May 29 with Abraham included.

The two rival teams are set to lock horns in an all-English affair in Portugal, with both sides eyeing European glory.

The pair of N'Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy who were major doubts for the trip have been included in the travelling party following their return to training on Wednesday, May 26.

Mendy is understood to have picked a rib injury on the final day of the Premier League campaign after he collided against the post.
