Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates at Juventus have landed the 2020/21 Coppa Italia title after beating Atalanta 2-1 in a tough encounter on Wednesday night, May 19.

Having lost their title in the League and also their elimination in the Champions League, Pirlo and his men knew that winning the Coppa Italia will be the perfect way for them to seek redemption.

Juventus started the match impressively and Cristiano Ronaldo would have scored the opener in the 11th minute, but his shot was parried away by goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.

The Old Lady had to wait until the 31st minute before netting their goal through Dejan Kulusevski who was assisted by Weston McKennie.

Atalanta made sure that they restored parity before the end of the first half when Ruslan Malinovsky scored after an assist from Hans Hateboer.

The second half was so tough for Cristiano Ronaldo as Atalanta defenders did not give him a breathing space.

However, Juventus got their winning goal in the 73rd minute through Federico Chiesa who was assisted by Dejan Kulusevski.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Dolores Aveiro, the mother of Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo, disclosed that she will convince her son to return to his boyhood club Sporting CP in Portugal.

There are concerns over the future of the 36-year-old at Juventus, even though he still has until 2022 on his current contract with the Turin based side.

But his mother has stated that she will be able to convince him to return to Sporting where he developed his career scoring 3 goals before his move to Manchester United.

It was gathered that Ronaldo has acquired a home in the Lisbon area not too far from the Estádio José Alvalade, the home ground of Sporting.

The 36-year-old still has a special love for Sporting and in 2019, the club's president, Frederico Varandas, talked up the possibility of renaming their stadium after him.
