Chelsea look set to offload out-of-favour striker, Tammy Abraham, this summer after setting an asking price for the striker.

The Englishman has hardly been utilised since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, with the German tactician appearing to prefer the trio of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, and Olivier Giroud up front.

Abraham's last start for the Blues was back in February when he featured against Southampton before being withdrawn at half-time.

The west London side's decision to enter the market for a new striker has further complicated the England international's place in the team.

It is understood Tuchel is desperate for another centre forward this summer who is incisive enough in front of goal.

Erling Haaland and the club's former player Romelu Lukaku have both been identified for the role, meaning Chelsea will have to sell players considered surplus to requirements to raise funds for new players.

Metro UK reports Abraham is among those earmarked for sale, with the Stamford Bridge club now desperate to cash in on the star forward.

The publication added a price tag of £40million has already been placed on the youngster whose deal at Chelsea is due to expire in 2023.

The 23-year-old played an integral part during his first season in the Premier League last term under Frank Lampard, notching an impressive 16 goals.

EPL sides West Ham United and Leicester have both been linked with a possible move for the talented England international.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has explained that the Blues have had great results even without their top scorer Tammy Abraham so far this season.

Abraham has fallen down the pecking order at the Stamford Bridge since the arrival of the German tactician who took over from Frank Lampard.

Tuchel prefers Kai Harvertz and Timo Werner to play in the club’s attack most times, while Olivier Giroud also gets minutes. He said:

"We have a full squad now. We have 22 players on the training pitch and it's very, very hard to select the 18 players for Premier League matches."
