Karim Benzema equalized for Real Madrid during their Champions League first leg semi-final clash against Chelsea but Spanish media and fans believe there was a foul in the build-up, Daily Mail.

They claim Carlos Casemiro's fouled Cesar Azpilicueta in his initial header where he climbed above the Blues captain before it got to Eder Militao and finally Benzema.

A referee expert, Juan Andujar, told a Madrid based news media outlet Radio Marca:

"Casemiro commits a foul on [Cesar] Azpilicueta before [Eder] Militao heads to [Karim] Benzema, who scores."

The goal was checked on the VAR for a possible offside call instead of a foul but the referee did not spot any as the goal stood.

However, 48 per cent of fans who voted on Marca's website believed there was not a foul in the build-up to the goal and faulted Adujar's claims.

A short corner was exchanged between Toni Kroos and Luka Modric as the Croatian found Marcelo at the edge of the box.

The Brazilian made a cross into the box as Casemiro appeared to have out-muscled Azipilicueta with the header before Militao flicked it to Benzema who volleyed the beyond helpless Edouard Mendy.

There were little protests from Chelsea players as both teams had to settle for a scored draw and look ahead at the decider at Stamford Bridge in the coming week.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Kelechi Iheanacho will score Timo Werner's missed chances during Chelsea's Champions League draw with Real Madrid, former Rangers striker Ally McCoist claims, Complete Sports.

The German international had two glorious chances against Los Blancos in the first half but failed to beat Thibaut Courtois in goal.

The Blues were forced to a 1-1 draw at the Alfredo di Stefano and should have taken a win back to Stamford Bridge, but the West London club still has the away-goal advantage.
