Patrick Pascal has given his stake on Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa who recently joined Nigerian Professional League side Kano Pillars.

The Nigerian international has been unable to seal a deal to a top club in Europe after his contract with Saudi Arabian outfit Al Nassr expired.

The 28-year-old has now rejoined his boyhood club Pillars for a short term in a bid to maintain his fitness level and return to Europe in the summer.

Pascal who was one of the few successful home-based players that broke into the national team among his foreign based counterparts has lauded Musa's courage to return home to play for a local club.

In an exclusive interview with Legit.ng, Pascal who is currently the Super Eagles team coordinator and chairman Bauchi Football Association was full of praise of the Nigerian captain.

"It's a very good one, he's in Nigeria and he's waiting for another contract and its very good for him to keep fit. Joining a club is better, because Kano Pillars is a professional club.
"Musa going back to his former club that brought him up is good for him, it has shown that there's an improvement in the Nigerian league.
"Ronaldinho went back to Brazil but some Nigerian players are afraid coming back to play because of the insult fans would rein on them that their careers are over.
"But for Musa he is not playing for the money, he has something that he is eyeing and training with the club makes potential teams to know that he is a serious person.
"The short contract with Pillars will help him in his CV because he is a player who will not be termed as unattached."
