Argentine forward Sergio Aguero will part ways with Manchester City at the end of this campaign.

The 32-year-old joined the Citizens from Atletico Madrid in a deal around €40 million in 2011 and he rose to become the club's highest goals scorer within a decade.

He scored a staggering 257 goals and 73 assists in 384 appearances across competitions for the Etihad Stadium outfit.

One of his greatest moments at the club was when he scored the title-winning goal against Queens Park Rangers at the end of the 2011-12 season.

Aguero confirmed his departure from the club that helped him win 13 trophies including four Premier Leagues, five League Cups, one FA Cup and three Community Shields online.

While confirming his exit from the EPL side, the Argentine who has been linked with a move to Barcelona said on Twitter:

"I will continue to give it my utmost for the rest of the season to win more titles and bring more joy to the fans.
"Then, a new stage with new challenges will begin, and I am fully ready to face them with the same passion and professionalism that I have always dedicated to continue competing at the highest level."
"Sergio's contribution to Manchester City over the last 10 years cannot be overstated," said City's chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak .
"His legend will be indelibly etched into the memories of everyone who loves the Club and maybe even in those who simply love football.

Aguero could win his fifth EPL title before leaving the club as City currently dominates the table with 71 points - 14 points better than Manchester United with eight games left to play.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United legend Paul Ince has urged the club to sign Sergio Aguero once the summer transfer window opens.

Aguero is out of contract with Man City at the end of the ongoing season and looks set to leave on a free.

Reports claim the Argentine is yet to agree a new deal with City, opening doors for his departure in the next few weeks.
