Former Nigerian International Daniel Amokachi Names the Ex-Team-Mate He respects a Lot

- The pair were part of the Super Eagles squad many still refer to as the ‘golden generation’

- Amokachi says Oliseh still has a lot to offer Nigeria as he is knowledgeable about the game

Former Nigerian international Daniel Amokachi has disclosed that one of his former team-mates that he respects so much is ex-captain Sunday Oliseh.

According to Daniel ‘The Bull’, Oliseh is filled with so much knowledge abouth the game of football, adding that he the former national team coach still has a lot to offer.

He said this on a Brila FM programme monitores by Sporting Life that if Oliseh is allowed another chance, he would do a lot to benefit Nigeria.

Amokachi said:

“I respect Oliseh, the guy knows a lot about football. He is a bundle of talent but he was not given enough time when he was with the national team. His stay was very short and there’s nothing he could do with that and he left the stage."

According to Amokachi, he is still ‘very much in touch with his former teammates, especially the Super Eagles set of 1994 FIFA World Cup to the United States.

On the other hand, Former Nigerian international Duke Udi has narrated how he was dropped from the Dream Team squad that played at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996.

Bonfrere Jo-tutored side shocked the world winning gold medal in the football tournament defeating South American giants Brazil and Argentina in the semi-final and final respectively.

But Udi has stated that he was dropped from the squad because he rejected a loan move to a team in Slovakia, which upset the manager.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigerian defender Taribo West, as well as Brazilian legend Ronaldo de Lima, joined Italian giants Inter Milan in 1997 where they became friends being part of an iconic squad.

Taribo had a remarkable two years at the club between 1997 and 1999 where he scored one goal in 44 appearances, but he made name for himself.

Despite being a defender, the former Super Eagles star became so fond of Brazilian star Ronaldo who won the Fifa Player of the Year Award back-to-back in 1996 and 1997.
