Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo who currently plays for reigning Italian champions Juventus has stated clearly that he is determined to go on with his impressive football form.

The former Real Madrid star took to his social media page to explain this after exceeding Pele's record for the most goals scored in a professional career.

Cristiano Ronaldo was in brilliant form for Juventus on Sunday, March 14, scoring three goals for the Old Lady in their game against Cagliari.

The feat has taken the 36-year-old superstar to 770 goals in all competitions across a trophy-laden career.

Throughout his glorious football career, Brazilian legend Pele scored 767 goals for Santos which was an incredible record.

Cristiano Ronaldo explained below that he is grateful for all his achievements so far in the round leather game.

“The last few weeks were filled with news and stats considering me the world’s top scorer in football history, overcoming Pele’s 757 official goals.
"Although I’m thankful for that recognition, now it’s time for me to explain why I didn’t acknowledge that record until this moment.
“Now I can’t wait for the next games and challenges! The next records and trophies! Believe me, this story is still far from being over. The future is tomorrow and there’s still a lot to win for Juventus and Portugal.''

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how a former president at Juventus football club Giovanni Gigli urged the Old Lady to allow Cristiano Ronaldo to leave the club at the end of the season.

Ronaldo has continued to receive heavy criticisms over the club’s early exit from this season’s UEFA Champions League.

The Portuguese was blamed for jumping in a ‘wall’ which allowed Sergio Oliviera to grab his second goal for Porto from a 30-yard freekick.

Porto proceeded to the quarter-final of the competition following the away goals rule after it had ended 4-4 on aggregates.

Ronaldo was signed in 2018 from Real Madrid as the Old Lady are desperate to win the coveted Champions League, but they have failed on three consecutive seasons since the arrival of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
