"Love his work ethic and his game! True professional."

Lewandowski guided Bayern to a 4-1 triumph over Lazio in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 in Italy - a win that puts them one leg into the quarterfinals as they look set to retain the title.

He has now become the joint third-highest goals scorer alongside Real Madrid legend Raul in the history of the championship, while Cristiano Ronaldo sits at the summit of the table with 132 goals followed by Lionel Messi who has 118 at the moment.

The second leg comes up on March 17 and the job looks almost done except if a dramatic comeback happens in Germany.

Lewy joined Bayern on July 1, 2014, and has gone ahead to win eight Bundesliga titles among several other silverware including one Champions League and four German Cup trophies.

In total, Robert has made 320 appearances for his club in all competitions scoring 278 goals and 65 assists so far in his seven-year reign at the club.

Legit.ng earlier reported that serious race for the 2020/21 Golden Shoe award has already started in Europe with the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi performing well for their clubs.

Last season, Robert Lewandowski was so superb for Bayern Munich in all competitions as the 32-year-old helped the Bundesliga side to win a treble.

He has also started the current season on an impressive note with great performances for Bayern Munich who are still aiming to win the league title this term.
