Manchester City forward Riyad Mahrez discovered that about £175,000 (over N62million) of his money was blown by fraudulent forklift driver in 2017.

It was gathered that the convict had withdrawn such huge amount on the player’s bank card even before he eventually noticed.

According to the Crown Prosecution Service via Daily Star, the 32-year-old Sharif Mohamed pleaded guilty to the one-count charge of fraud totaling £175,830.

It further claimed that the forklift driver splashed nothing less than £20,000 of Mahrez’s cash partying and buying expensive designer clothes in Ibiza.

Mohamed’s spree also allegedly included a spend-up in a London cas*no and a stay at The Shard’s swanky Shangri-La hotel, as well as some more modest outings to Nandos, KFC and Greggs.

Former Met Detective Chief Inspector Mick Neville said:

“The most amazing thing is that someone can blow £175,000 on a bank card without the loser even realising.”

Mohamed, who claims to have been working on behalf of crooked staff at Barclays, is said to have phoned the bank to order a new card in his name.
