Manchester United who are Premier League giants have confirmed officially that Nigerian youngster Shola Shoretire has signed his first professional contract with the Red Devils.

Shola Shoretire is a product of Manchester United academy and his impressive performances in the Red Devils' youth team helped him to get a contract with the Premier League side.

According to the confirmation on Manchester United website, they stated clearly that the Nigerian player has been with them since the age of 9 and they are happy that he finally signed a contract.

On Friday, February 5, Manchester United chiefs were happy with Shola Shoretire's performance as he scored three goals against Blackburn Rovers while playing for the Under 23 team.

Manchester United did not reveal the details of his contract at Old Trafford as the Nigerian player is expected to continue his football career with the second team.

Shola Shoretire was born in Newcastle on February 2, 2004, and has Nigerian parents who have been living in England for years.

He is currently an England under-16 international, but that does not stop him from playing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The likes of Ola Aina, Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi also played for England youth national teams before they picked the Super Eagles.

Solskjaer and his men are currently occupying second position on the Premier League table with 45 points and they will face West Ham on Tuesday night, February 9, in FA Cup tie.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Sergio Romero was recalled into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad to further put pressure on David de Gea.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a move away from United during the January transfer window after falling out of favour with the Norwegian boss.

Dean Henderson moved up the pecking order as the second choice and the Argentine had decided to leave with six months left on his deal.

A move to the MLS is on the cards for Romero after failing to make an appearance for United this season.

Romero who was allowed to spend time with his family in Argentina has now returned to the side to begin training with De Gea and Henderson.
