- The 24-year-old came in at the start of the second-half and put up a man-of-the-match display
- The Istanbul giants have now qualified into the quarter-finals and will take on Alanyaspor
Henry Onyekuru got off to a flying start in his return to his former club Galatasary during Turkish FA Cup round of 16 game with Gaziantep FK.
The Super Eagles striker completed a loan move from Ligue 1 side Monaco to revive his playing after failing to break into the first team.
The Nigerian international came in for Younes Belhanda at half-time and within nine minutes he got his name on the scoresheet.
Onyekuru was assisted by Dutch international Ryan Babel to put Galatasary ahead away from home in the 51st minute.
Muhammed Akturkoglu was on hand to assist the 23-year-old for his second on the night in the 79th minute.
Gaziantep pulled one back in the eighth minute added to 90 minutes but Galatasary held on forte 2-1 win to make it through to the last eight.
Onyekuru will be hoping to win another league and cup double for the Istanbul giants during his first spell as they take on Alanyaspor in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Nigerian winger Henry Onyekuru has joined Turkish giants Galatasaray on a short-term loan deal until the end of the ongoing season.
Sources claim the Istanbul-based outfit included an option to sign him permanently depending on his performances for the club.
His return to the Turk Telekom Stadium could be attributed to his success in 2018-19 season when he scored 14 goals and five assists in 31 league appearances for them.
Legit.ng also reported that West Brom are considering signing Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa this month in a bid to escape relegation this campaign.
Sam Allardyce and his wards have not been finding it rosy this term in the Premier League and they are currently occupying 19th position on the table with just two wins after 19 games.
Since leaving the Saudi Arabian League last year, Ahmed Musa has been with his family and friends in Jos and he is preparing to join another club.
