Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu on Thursday night, January 21, continued with his impressive performances this season for his club Genk after scoring for them in their 1-1 draw against Gent.

Although it was a disappointing result for the Super Eagles star and his teammates as they were unable to get a win at home, Paul Onuachu registered his 20th goal of the season.

Gent started the match aggressively looking for early goal against their opponents, but they were unable to get it until the 7th minute when Paul Onuachu scored an incredible goal to give his side the lead.

Five minutes later, the Nigerian had another chance to score after getting a good pass from Theo Bongonda, but he was unable to find the back of the net.

However, Paul Onuachu was replaced in the 31st minute for Kristian Thorstvedt who failed to score any goal in this encounter.

Gent came back strongly in the second half and Junya Ito restored parity fro them in the 68th minute as the match ended 1-1.

As it is now on the Belgian League table, Genk are still occupying second position with 39 points after 22 games and they are nine points behind Club Brugge who are topping.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how former Everton captain Joseph Yobo emerged as the Nigerian topping the table of Super Eagles players who have most appearances in the FIFA World Cup.

Before turning his career into coaching, Joseph Yobo was one of the best defenders in the world considering his performances for all the clubs he played for and also the national team.

Joseph Yobo entered the Super Eagles before the 2002 FIFA World Cup hosted by Japan and Korea and was superb for the three-time African champions even though they did not make it from the group stage.

The 40-year-old played for Nigeria at three World Cup tournaments which were 2002, 2010 and 2014 and featured in 10 games.

Former Bolton star Austin Okocha also had three tournaments for Nigeria at World Cup which was in 1994, 1998 and 2002.
