The 28-year-old Austrian seems to have agreed to join Los Blancos after signing a pre-contract with the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.

The Catalans' excuse was that they will not be able to pay his wages in spite of a chance to land such a valuable player on a free transfer in the summer.

Alaba will now join the Galacticos on a four-year deal as a free agent while he earns a staggering £186,000-a-week during his stay at the club as reported by SunSport quoting Spanish outlet AS.

The publications further revealed that the player has already passed medicals in the presence of Real staff.

Meanwhile, Alaba refused to extend his Bayern contract and will leave after ten years with the German giants. He has played 22 times in all competitions this season.

He has already won 23 trophies - including nine Bundesliga titles and he could add to his tally before leaving if they end up with silverware again this term.

The versatile ace has played at left-back, centre-back, and centre-midfield in his time at Bayern with 32 goals and 49 assists in 408 appearances across competitions.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Premier League defending champions Liverpool have offered Bayern Munich veteran David Alaba a staggering £9m-a-year contract.

The Reds are planning to beat top Spanish League giants to the signing of the Austrian whose deal with the German League outfit expires this summer.

Although the Bavarians haven't given up hopes of persuading the 28-year-old defender to extend his reign at the club with about six months to the expiration of his current deal with them.
