Juventus recorded a hard-earned 2-1 victory over Sassuolo in a tough Serie A matchday 16 fixture played at the Allianz Stadium.

Gregoire Defrel canceled out Danilo's goal before Aaron Ramsey and Cristiano Ronaldo scored to give the Bianconeri all three points.

The high point of the first half was when Pedro Obiang was given his marching orders after a dangerous tackle on Federico Chiesa.

The referee had initially brandished a yellow card before changing it to red after consultations with the VAR.

After the incident, Juve had several scoring chances with the best of them falling into the path of Ronaldo but the Portuguese could not make it count.

With a man disadvantaged for Sassuolo, the Old lady created several opening until they broke the deadlock in the 50th minute.

Danilo capitalized on a loose ball as he hit a first-time shot that went straight into the back of the net giving the goalkeeper no chance to make it 1-0.

Despite the ten men at the disposal of the away side, they responded through Defrel whose first touch was superb and his second was clinical as he leveled matters in the 58th minute.

Juve were not done yet as Ramsey restored the one-goal cushion after meeting Gianluca Frabotta's low cross was well met by the Welshman to make it 2-1 in the 82nd minute.

Ronaldo made up for his first-half miss as he accelerated before drilling his shot past the goalkeeper to make it 3-1 in the 92nd minute.

The Bianconeri have now moved to fourth position with 33 points and are six points off leaders AC Milan and four behind Inter Milan in second place.
