Pele upgrades his Instagram bio to 1,283 goals after Cristiano Ronaldo broke his 757 official strikes in Juventus colours.

The Portuguese scored a brace in the Bianconeri's 4-1 over Udinese as the 35-year-old made it 758 career goals displacing the great Pele by one goal

There has always been controversy regarding Pele's number of goals which was not officially documented as the football legend adjusted his bio to 1,283 goals on Instagram.

But fans took to Twitter to make fun of Pele for updating his tally and not respecting Ronaldo's unbelievable feat.

One Twitter fan said

"If Ronaldo and [Lionel] Messi also count all their club friendlies goals, youth goals, FIFA and PES Goals [sic], I'm sure they'll be having somewhere close to 2000 already."

Another added:

"Pele is a Joker [sic] man, he was great footballer, but the way he's acted since retiring is of astounding arrogance."

And a third said:

"Just can't concede he lost that record."

A fourth added:

"This is getting petty now. He'll randomly score a goal in his backyard and start adding to his tally now."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo is now the second man with the highest number of goals in football following his brace against Udinese in the Italian Serie A on January 3.

The Juventus striker found the back of the net twice in the highly entertaining fixture which ended 4-1 for the Old Lady.

Both goals ensured Ronaldo overtook legendary Pele in the all-time goal scorers’ chart with the 35-year-old now on 758 while the Brazilian icon had 757 during his famous career between 1956 and 1977 for Santos, New York Cosmos and Brazil.
