- Victor Osimhen is nearing full fitness for Serie A giants Napoli
- The 21-year-old has not featured for Parthenopeans since mid-November
- Osimhen picked up a shoulder injury during Nigeria's 4-4 AFCON qualifier draw vs Sierra Leone
- The forward has started training in the gym and on the pitch ahead of return to action
Africa's most expensive footballer, Victor Osimhen has stepped up his recovery process after training on the pitch and in the gym this week.
The Super Eagles striker picked up a shoulder injury while on international duty for Nigeria in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone in Benin last month.
He was on the scores sheet in the game that ended 4-4 despite the hosts scoring four goals in the first 30 minutes of the match.
The 21-year-old has since then been unable to feature for the Parthenopeans in their last five games across competitions.
However, the club hinted the forward is nearing full fitness for the Italian League giants as he trained on the pitch and in the gym already. The statement from the club reads
"Victor Osihen had treatment and trained separately in the gym and outside, while Kevin Malcuit had an individual session in the gym."
Osimhen has scored twice and assisted one other goal since he sealed his mega-money move to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium from Lille in the summer.
Some reports claim the former Wolfsburg is not expected back in action until December 20 when Napoli face-off with Serie A rivals Lazio.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Napoli medical team has reportedly accused Nigerian doctors of aggravating Victor Osimhen's shoulder injury while trying to help him ease off pains.
The 21-year-old suffered a setback during the Super Eagles' disappointing 4-4 draw against lowly rated Sierra Leone in last month's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Benin.
He was removed in the 78th minute with Paul Onuachu taking his place for the remainder of the game having already registered his name on the scores sheet earlier in the first half.
