Fernandes arrived Old Trafford during the January transfer window from Sporting Lisbon.

The midfielder is understood to have penned a five-year contract in a deal that could cost United around £67million.

However, SunSport now reports Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to have the Red Devils reward him with a new lucrative offer.

The deal could reported see the Portuguese playmaker's wages rocket to around £200,000.

The new wages will take him at par with Edinson and Marcus Rashford but still way behind Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and David de Gea all who currently pocket more.

The new move is said to be aimed at fending off any chance of any club trying to unsettle Bruno with an offer in the summer.

The 26-year-old has established himself as a key squad member for Solskjaer, playing a central role in United's campaign that saw them book a place in the Champions League.

He has since picked from where he left, scoring seven goals and setting up four others in 10 league appearances this season.
