Luke Shaw: Man United star wants season voided due to coronavirus

- Luke Shaw wants Premier League season to be voided altogether if the campaign cannot be finished

- Liverpool needed just two wins to be crowned champions as they lead the charts with 82 points

- The 2019/20 has since been suspended over coronavirus throwing their title hopes into limbo

- It remains unclear when the season will resume, with some calling for its scrapping

Man United defender Luke Shaw has suggested the Premier League season should be voided altogether if the campaign cannot be finished.

The drastic move could deny Liverpool their first league crown in close to three decades.

The Reds currently sit on the summit of the log with a 25-point advantage over Man City who are their closest challengers for the title.

But with the season suspended over the coronavirus pandemic, the Anfield dwellers appear in danger of missing out on domestic glory.

The situation has seen opinion divided on whether or not Liverpool should be handed the trophy.

But when asked what should happen, Shaw suggested the campaign has to be voided and have it start again.

"Scrap it and start again. Start it again yeah. It’s gotta be you know. If we can’t carry it on it’s got to be void," Shaw said during a Combat Corona Twitch FIFA competition.

"Fans are so important. You realise it even more [now]. I think the sport is for fans really, do you know what I mean? I think if you don’t have fans, and you don’t play in front of fans, it just doesn’t feel right," he added.

Ighalo has also been able to prove critics wrong with his performances so far for Manchester United as there are now talks of him getting a new deal at Old Trafford.

Although Manchester United chiefs are yet to make any decision on Odion Ighalo's future at the club, but Ole Solskjaer is said to be satisfied with his games.
